PT Kereta Api Indonesia (

) identified 131 vulnerable route points

and landslides, so that various mitigation measures continue to be carried out to ensure the passage of the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 periods (

KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin said the most vulnerable areas were in Daop IV or covering most of Central Java.Extra mitigation was carried out at these points.
“We have identified these disaster-prone points and have also mitigated them. Especially in Daop IV, in the Central Java area, there are several points that we have repaired,” he said at a press conference at Gambir Station, Thursday (18/12) evening.

He gave an example, at KM 2, the Kaligawe area, for example, which is usually flooded every year.For this reason, KAI immediately carried out mitigation by raising the rail position.
“We are currently raising that (Kaligawe point) by 30 cm. So, in conclusion we have identified the points, we have mitigated them and we have also repaired them,” he said
On the other hand, he said that up to December 18 2025, at 08.00 WIB, 1,747,125 seats had been sold for Christmas tickets.This achievement is equivalent to 49.8 percent of the total 3,506,104 seats provided during the year-end holiday period.
Long-distance train ticket sales were recorded at 1,630,549 tickets, or 59.1 percent of the 2,761,048 seat capacity.Meanwhile, local train ticket sales reached 116,576 tickets, equivalent to 15.6 percent of the total 745,056 seats.
The highest occupancy rate was recorded at 65.8 percent on D-11, namely Sunday, December 28 2025. This figure is expected to continue to increase as the ticket sales process progresses.
