Meanwhile, logs of wood that are no longer suitable for use must be immediately removed and disposed of in a safer place.
“This flood caused quite a lot of damage. One of the causes was the large amount of wood that entered the river due to environmental changes at the top. This must be resolved immediately, especially at this stage, this month and next month,” said JK when inspecting the flood-affected locations in Koto Village, Pauh District, Padang City, West Sumatra, quoted from

JK emphasized that handling wood carried by floods must be carried out systematically and not delayed.
“The solution is clear, this wood must be cut and transported. What can be used, use it. What can’t, throw it away in a certain place,” said JK.
JK said that the wood resulting from the cleaning could potentially be used for community needs, such as building materials, making furniture, chairs or other purposes, depending on the condition and quality of the wood.
“It can be used for housing, it can be used for media, chairs, various things. The important thing is to use it as much as possible. Not everything is thrown away so that people don’t have more difficulties,” said JK.
JK also reminded the importance of cooperation between local governments, communities and various related parties so that post-flood management is fast, effective and sustainable, as well as providing momentum to improve environmental governance in the future.
