claimed to have killed the leader of a backed Palestinian armed gang

The Palestinian resistance group stated that the killing of Abu Shabab was carried out in a carefully planned ambush in the city of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip.

The murder was carried out by a member of the Abu Shabab family clan who pretended to want to join the armed gang.
Hamas said it carried out the killing in a very precise manner, killing Abu Shabab along with his associates.

said that the attack was carried out in a very fast and sudden manner.
The attack really surprised the Abu Shabab because they usually expected attacks from the Qassam Brigades to usually be carried out on the surface where elite troops might be able to avoid tank attacks.However, the attack came from within their own group which immediately killed Abu Shabab.
Abu Shabab’s killing was said to be very ironic because he previously appeared in a video recording and vowed to “cleanse” Rafah.However, he was killed instead in what one source called “a true gang purge from the city.”
The source said that the operation was a major success for the Palestinian resistance group and a major blow to Israel’s agents.
However, the Abu Shabab gang has denied Hamas’s claim that its leader was killed by Hamas.
Abu Shabab leads the most prominent anti-Hamas group to emerge in Gaza during the Israeli aggression that began in 2023.
Reported by Reuters, in a statement, the Gaza People’s Army claimed that its leader died from a gunshot wound while mediating a family argument.
Abu Shabab is claimed to lead hundreds of armed gangs and is fully supported by Israel in the eastern region of Rafah.They play a role in creating ‘safe zones’ for Israel’s benefit and to weaken Palestinian resistance groups.
