for the welfare of athletes.
The 2025 SEA Games bonus was mentioned by President Prabowo Subianto, who will give IDR 1 billion to gold medal winners.
On the sidelines of a meeting with the Indonesian contingent in Bangkok, Erick Thohir again discussed the bonus.

“We know that the President has promised a bonus of IDR 1 billion, this is a form of the President’s commitment to advancing Indonesian sports and improving the future prosperity of athletes,” said Erick Thohir, quoted by Antara.
Erick explained that President Prabowo is targeting Indonesia’s sporting achievements at the Olympics.Therefore, the 2025 SEA Games will be used as evaluation material to achieve the achievement targets expected by the President.
“The Olympics are the main goal, then the target is between the SEA Games and the Asian Games. We have to prepare for this from now on,” said Erick.
Even though it is still ongoing, the Ministry of Youth and Sports said that evaluation of the 2025 SEA Games is still ongoing.Among the materials for the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ evaluation of the 2025 SEA Games are athlete regeneration, improving sports science and transparent evaluation.
“So the medal target at the SEA Games is an evaluation material. We have to prepare together well in advance, we prepare a long-term road map program, sports science, and also a transparent evaluation,” said Erick.
Erick then explained that in the future there will be 21 sports that will be included as superior sports in the National Sports Grand Design (DBON).
