Aston Villa finally took the lead over Arsenal in the 36th minute thanks to a superb goal from right back Matty Cash.
The goal stemmed from Cash’s cleverness in utilizing Pau Torres’ sneak pass from the left side.Pau Torres’ cross was headed by an Arsenal player, which ultimately gave Cash the advantage.
Cash, who moved from behind on the right side, chased the ball to outwit Eze Eberechi. At the right time Cash released an acrobatic right foot kick which sent the ball flying between goalkeeper David Raya’s legs.
Arsenal were only able to score a goal back in the second half, to be precise in the 52nd minute through Leandro Trossard’s kick.
This Belgian player carefully took advantage of the chaos in Aston Villa’s penalty box.Initially Bukayo Saka’s cross from the right was blocked by goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
Unfortunately for the hosts, the ball was still rolling not far from the goal and closer to Trossard.Trossard’s merciless right foot shot sent the ball into the goal.
Arsenal’s efforts to bring home points from Villa Park disappeared after substitute Emiliano Buendia scored the winning goal for Aston Villa.
In the final seconds of the match midfielder Boubakar Kamara was fighting for the ball in the Arsenal penalty box. This chaos made Kamara almost win the battle for the ball.
However, the ball that Kamara shifted moved wildly and came closer to Buendia.Without thinking, Buendia fired a right foot kick, placing the ball into the top right corner of the goal without Raya being able to reach it.
Aston Villa won 2-1 over Arsenal. This was Aston Villa’s seventh win in a row in all competitions, or their fifth in the Premier League.
