Elon Musk
set a record as the first person in the world with a net worth of more than US$700 billion or IDR 11 thousand trillion.
The Forbes billionaire index shows Musk’s wealth reached US$749 billion or the equivalent of Rp. 12,509 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp. 16,690 per US dollar) as of Friday evening (20/12).This figure soared after the Supreme Court (MA) of Delaware, United States (US), restored Tesla’s stock-based salary package option.
The Delaware Supreme Court’s ruling annulled a lower court ruling last year, which invalidated Musk’s 2018 compensation deal worth US$56 billion or the equivalent of IDR 935 trillion.The Supreme Court considers that a court decision in 2024 canceling the package is inappropriate and unfair to Musk.

This means that Musk won the appeal regarding his salary agreement at Tesla in 2018, which has now doubled to around US$139 billion or the equivalent of IDR 2,320 trillion.
Musk’s wealth now exceeds that of Google founder Larry Page, who was pushed to second place in the world’s richest people.Forbes estimates Page’s assets at US$500 billion or Rp. 8,348 trillion.
Musk’s assets total IDR 12,509 trillion, equivalent to four times the Indonesian state revenue target set in the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).
In the 2025 APBN, the total state revenue target this year is IDR 2,865.5 trillion.
Musk’s wealth is also equivalent to three times the spending budget in the 2025 APBN. The spending budget ceiling this year is IDR 3,527.5 trillion.
