, Fousseni Diawara, expressed the sense of warmth and closeness he felt between Indonesia and Mali during his almost week in Indonesia.According to him, the friendliness of the Indonesian people makes the two countries now feel like one family.
“The Indonesian people welcomed us very well. A warm welcome in Indonesia. Now, Mali and Indonesia are family. We are very happy here in Indonesia. There are many positive things. This is very positive for every player, for the coach,” said Diawara after the second leg test match between Indonesia vs Mali, Tuesday (18/11).
“This is a very good experience. Maybe later, the players will come here for a holiday in Bali. I don’t know,” Diawara added.

Diawara also talked about his closeness to local culture, including culinary and religious activities.
“Very, very happy with this experience. Maybe about the food. Especially me, I love eating Nasi Goreng. Yes, we are also Muslims. This morning, we went to the mosque, we played with Indonesian people,” said Diawara.
Not only that, Diawara said that the name Jakarta has a special meaning for the people of Mali.
“That’s very important. I said before, in Indonesia, in Mali, every day, the word Jakarta is in the mouths of Malian people. Because we have a motto, and that name is Jakarta,” Diawara added.
“Every day, every day, every minute, every hour, we can hear Jakarta, you know? We are the same family. We are very, very happy with this experience. And now, I say, you are like family to us,” said Diawara.
The Indonesian U-23 national team drew 2-2 against Mali U-23 in the second leg of the international trial match at Pakansari Stadium, Cibinong, Tuesday (18/11) evening.
The match was tight from the start.The first half ended 1-1, after Mali took the lead through Sekou Kone’s goal in the 11th minute, then Indonesia equalized in the 38th minute through Mauro Zijlstra’s kick using Hokky Caraka’s pass.
In the second half, Indonesia took a 2-1 lead in the 52nd minute through Rafael Struick’s goal after receiving a pass from Raka Cahyana.However, Mali again equalized the score at 2-2 through Sekou Kone’s second goal in the 70th minute after receiving a through ball from Hamidou Makalou.The 2-2 score lasted until the match was over.
