at the 2025 SEA Games.
The government, in this case the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has set a silver medal target for Indonesia U-23 at the 2025 SEA Games. This is different from PSSI’s desire to win a gold medal.
According to Amali, it is normal for sports federations and the government to differ regarding targets.This is not the first time that the targets of sports administrators and the government are different.

“If there are differences between sports and the government, in this case the review team, I think that’s a normal thing. Since I was a minister, it’s always been different, always different.”
“And, the sports always have more [targets]. Especially sports with lots of numbers. Yes, the [targets] are always different,” said Amali in Jakarta, Friday (28/11).
In the process, said Amali, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, represented by the Review Team, asked each sport to send projections when appearing in the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand.
From the projections made by the sports administrators, the Review Team conducted a study.After that, representatives of the sports administrators were called to sit together to discuss the projections made.
From this discussion, the Review Team set targets for the 2025 SEA Games, which were studied from various aspects, including the current strengths of the opponents and Indonesia.
“So if there is a difference between the targets stated by the sport and what was announced by the government, that’s no problem. So, don’t conflict with it.”
“Since I [became Menpora], Mas Dito, and I think it will continue. Not just the SEA Games, Asian Games and Olympics too,” explained the former Minister of Youth and Sports.
Even so, every sport that is targeted lower by the government does not make us pessimistic.On the contrary, this was used as motivation to break the Review Team’s analysis.
“So what we are holding is what has been targeted by the government. Well, if we achieve the internal target, thank God. That’s how it is,” said Amali, emphasizing.
“So there’s nothing contradictory, why is this like this, why is this like that. Yes, it’s okay. I mean, there’s nothing wrong. Sports are internally like that.”
