Head of Corporate Communication at Perum Damri, P Septian Adri S, said that on Friday (19/12) Damri operated 1,828 vehicles with a total of 7,823 trip routes.These operations include Inter-City Inter-Provincial (AKAP) services, airports, pioneers, and other services.
“On the first day of Nataru 2026 transportation, Damri succeeded in serving almost 165 thousand customers. This figure is the initial momentum in managing the gradual increase in community mobility,” said Septian in his statement in Karawang, West Java, Saturday (20/12) citing

He emphasized that the operation of thousands of fleets is part of Damri’s commitment to maintaining community connectivity and mobility at the start of the holiday period at the end of 2025.
During the 2026 Nataru Transport period, Damri also operates the Nataru Post which functions as a center for operational monitoring, safety and cross-regional coordination.Monitoring is carried out continuously on vehicle conditions, traffic flow, and potential travel disruptions, including the impact of extreme weather.
Damri stated his readiness to transport around 1.3 to 1.4 million passengers during the 2026 Christmas holiday period. This target is an increase of around 10 percent compared to the realization in the same period last year which reached 1.2 million passengers.
Passenger targets cover almost all Damri service segments, except logistics transportation.
The Christmas and New Year transportation period is set to run from 19 December 2025 to 5 January 2026.
A surge in community mobility was also recorded in the rail transportation mode.The number of passengers at a number of stations in Operation Area (Daop) 9 Jember, East Java, showed a significant increase ahead of the Christmas holiday.
Daop 9 Jember’s Legal and Public Relations Manager, Cahyo Widiantoro, said that an increasing trend had begun to be seen since the beginning of the transportation period.On December 18 2025, the number of passengers boarding at a number of stations was recorded at 9,447 people, then increased to 10,619 people on December 19 2025.
Meanwhile, passengers disembarking in the Daop 9 Jember area also experienced an increase, from 9,913 people on December 18 to 11,099 people on December 19 2025.
“On Saturday until 09.30 WIB, 9,932 passengers departed, while 10,036 passengers disembarked. This number is predicted to continue to increase,” said Cahyo.
Until the third day of implementation of the Nataru transportation, the total number of passengers departing from various stations in the Daop 9 Jember area, from Pasuruan to Banyuwangi, reached 29,998 people.Meanwhile, 30,248 passengers arrived or disembarked.
Cahyo emphasized that KAI is committed to ensuring that every customer journey is safe and comfortable.He also appealed to passengers to come early to the station and bring their luggage according to the provisions to avoid queues and maintain a smooth journey.
“We ensure that all facilities and infrastructure are in prime condition to serve the surge in passengers during Christmas,” he said.
