National Police
to continue to freeze the use of sirens and strobes on the roads. This is because the freeze has had a positive impact on the National Police Traffic Corps.

“This is very positive on social media, giving appreciation to the frozen traffic because maybe we are in a state of euphoria,” said Safaruddin in a meeting with the National Police Traffic Corps, Thursday (27/11).
“Including me too, we members of the DPR just step aside, sir, if that’s the case, we will definitely step aside,” said the retired two-star police officer.

Meanwhile, the National Police’s Head of Traffic Corps, Inspector General Pol Agus Suryonugroho, revealed that his staff are currently still evaluating the ‘tot tot wuk wuk’ suspension, and cannot yet confirm the timing.
“And now we are being asked, how long will this freeze last, ‘frankly, we will evaluate’. And this has a very positive impact, sir,” he said.
This is in line with his statement last October that the decision to freeze certain uses of vehicle strobes and sirens was not yet permanent, because it had to involve a number of parties and experts to assess their effectiveness and impact on society.
Not only the use of sirens, the meeting also discussed highlighting requests for off-duty escorts.Agus said that currently escorts will only be carried out for priority needs.
Even so, he ensured that DPR members had mandatory guard duties.
“We are coordinating with the State Secretariat so that which ones must be guarded and which ones must not be guarded. As for the council members, we guard them all, sir, we don’t dare, sir,” he said.
