Central Tapanuli
, North Sumatra, was hit by a disaster
flood
and landslides.This disaster hit all 20 sub-districts in the district.
“As of Friday (28/11) it was reported that 34 people had died and 33 other residents were still declared missing,” said Central Tapanuli Regent Masinton Pasaribu in a written statement.
A total power outage occurred throughout the Sibolga City area and Central Tapanuli Regency.Telecommunication and internet networks also experience blind spots in the same area which makes coordination and communication difficult.

Land access to Central Tapanuli is also completely cut off.Roads and bridges on the Trans-Sumatra Route from North Tapanuli, Humbang Hasundutan, and South Tapanuli/Padangsidimpuan city, were damaged by landslides, collapses and broken bridges.
Masinton claimed that he had ordered the distribution of aid to be carried out by sea and air.Ship access is via Sibolga Harbor while air access is via Pinangsori Airport.
At the Pandan GOR Refugee Post, 347 people were recorded as having to evacuate.The details are 89 adult men, 96 adult women, 109 children, 43 babies and 10 elderly people.
Apart from the loss of life and the missing, the evacuation process is still ongoing for isolated residents.
A total of 30-35 heads of families (KK) in Hutanabolon Village, around 90 families (500 people) in Saormanggita Village, and 250 families in S. Kalangan II Village have still not been evacuated.
In Haloban Bair Village, Tapian Nauli District, it was reported that 35 families had fled, while 7 people chose to stay at the location.Other locations, such as the Tukka One Roof Middle School in Huraba, also still have residents detained.
The Central Tapanuli Regional Government (Pemda) is currently still preparing the administration of an Emergency Response Letter as well as a letter requesting food assistance to the National Food Agency to meet needs in public kitchens and evacuation posts.
