Central Jakarta District Court (PN).
granted the exception of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia
Gibran Rakabuming Raka
and the General Election Commission (
KPU
) in a civil lawsuit against the Gibran diploma polemic which was sued by HM Subhan.
Central Jakarta District Court spokesman Sunoto said this case could not be accepted because it was not the authority of the Central Jakarta District Court.

“In his ruling, he granted the defendants’ exception. He stated that the district court had no authority to try this case. And charged the case to the plaintiff,” Sunoto told reporters at the Central Jakarta District Court, Monday (22/12).
Sunoto said that this decision also ended the Gibran polemic case at the Central Jakarta District Court.
“This means that if there is an order stating that the district court has no authority. This means it is a final decision. It ends this case,” he said.
Previously, Gibran was sued for committing an unlawful act at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN).The plaintiff and written attorney is HM Subhan.The lawsuit was filed last Friday (29/8).
Reporting from the Central Jakarta District Court Case Tracking Information System (SIPP), the lawsuit is registered with case number: 583/Pdt.G/2025/PN Jkt.Pst.Apart from Gibran, the other defendant is the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU).
Subhan said the lawsuit took issue with Gibran not having a high school (SMA) diploma which is held under Indonesian law.
Subhan said that this lawsuit was filed because there were losses in this case, both material and immaterial, although he did not state it clearly.According to him, the object of the lawsuit affects the validity of the position Gibran currently holds.
“Material and immaterial losses as well as legal losses,” said Subhan.
