According to him, disaster aid from other countries should be channeled through central government mechanisms, not directly received by affected regional governments.
According to him, this must be done officially from country to country or
government to government (G to G).
If the aid has been officially reported and received by the central government, distribution will be carried out according to national needs, not limited to just one region.

Meanwhile, regarding assistance from foreign non-governmental organizations, groups or associations, Bobby said that this still needs to be studied further whether it is allowed to be received directly by the regional government.
Bobby also asked all regional heads in North Sumatra to report every form of international assistance to the provincial government and then forward it to the center. He emphasized that international assistance mechanisms have been regulated and must be complied with.
Bobby emphasized that international assistance for disaster management has a mechanism that has been established by the central government. This mechanism must of course be obeyed by regional heads.
According to him, after receiving this approval, the distribution of aid will also be carried out by the central government in accordance with applicable regulations.
Previously, the Medan City Government decided to return logistical assistance for flood victims previously received from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Government. The assistance was in the form of 30 tons of rice as well as 300 packages of basic necessities, baby equipment and prayer equipment.
Medan Mayor Rico Waas said the decision was taken after coordinating with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).According to him, currently the central government is still distributing aid to deal with floods in the city of Medan, so it is deemed unnecessary to distribute aid from the UAE.
“Indeed, we think that the government is still providing assistance to us as well as the Medan city government. And it has also coordinated with BNPB, so it would be good to hand it back to the UAE,” he said to hitclubapk3 Indonesia, Thursday (18/12).
The NasDem Party politician said that aid from the UAE government had not yet been distributed to communities affected by the flood. All aid is returned in complete condition.
