Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo bid farewell to their characters in the saga
Wicked
, Glinda and Elphaba, along with the second film of the saga, For Good, released on November 19, 2025.
In emotional posts on social media, Grande and Erivo paid special tribute to the characters and showed off some of their behind-the-scenes moments.

“Thank you, my sweet Glinda, for everything. I will always love you… Wicked For Good is out,” wrote Ariana Grande in an upload on Saturday (22/11).
The upload shows various moments of Grande playing Glinda, from trying on dresses, practicing, taking pictures, to in the make-up room.

Meanwhile, at the same time, Erivo also uploaded a tribute to Elphaba.He showed photos between takes, when the crew and cast gathered, and when Erivo was shooting the flying scene.
“I could write essays, poetry, Shakespearean prose, to describe how much this journey means to me, what lessons I have learned and taken away,” Erivo wrote.
“I can try to give a measure to the love I have felt and experienced. I can give a number to the stories I have heard. In reality, the numbers are too small and words are not enough. So, I will just say this.”

Wicked For Good itself is the second part of the Wicked story, the first part of which will air in 2024. This time, the story will focus on the fate of Elphaba and Glinda’s relationship after they chose different paths.
Apart from that, Wicked For Good will also highlight Elphaba’s efforts in defending the rights of animals who were forced by the rulers of the Land of Oz to become slaves for development.
Just like before, the vocal acts performed by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo in this film were carried out directly on location at the insistence of the two actresses.
This film is still being directed by Jon M. Chu with a script written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox.The script is an adaptation of the second act of the stage musical Wicked (2003) by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman.
