Murthalamuddin said the difficulty of access to affected areas was an obstacle in the process of distributing aid.This is because flash floods and landslides have caused many roads to collapse, bridges to break and roads to be buried in mud.

“We said that the first difficulty of access was a bit different from before, namely that many roads were broken, many bridges were broken, many roads were affected by landslides. This made it difficult to pass. And there were roads that were buried in very high mud, more than one meter. In general, the mud was still soft at the bottom, and at the top it was already hard. So as soon as we wanted to pass through, we would get stuck. I have experienced that,” he said.
“So now deliveries by land have to be in the form of a human chain for areas that have not been cleared. This causes problems in distributing aid,” he continued.
Murthalamuddin also said that there was a buildup of aid in one area, while other areas had not yet been reached and received assistance.
Therefore, Murthalamuddin appealed to institutions or parties wishing to distribute aid to coordinate with the command post.
“Why does this happen? Because there is a lot of aid in Banda Aceh because the bridge connecting Bireuen and North Aceh is broken, so a lot of it (accumulates) in these three districts sometimes. So what I mean is, if there is, even if it is sent to Pidie, to Pidie Jaya, or to Bireuen, we can give advice, where the target is and what the needs are,” he said.
