In fact, according to him, health services belong to everyone. Therefore, the government and health workers should not carry out discriminatory actions.
“Health services are the right of all citizens, and of course there should be no discrimination at all,” he said.
Chair of the PDIP DPP for Health, Ribka Tjiptaning, believes that discriminatory actions against HIV/AIDS survivors cannot be justified.Because, according to him, no one has the desire to suffer from this disease.
“None of that
want
sick, everyone
want
healthy.”All people have the same right to health, that’s what we must emphasize,” he said.
Rebekah said her party would continue to encourage people living with HIV/AIDS to receive health insurance from the government. He also admitted that he was concerned because they often had difficulty getting medicine from the hospital.
“Sometimes they just buy medicine and experience discrimination, for example from 5.00 in the morning they go home at 16.00 in the afternoon, sometimes they bring provisions first,” he said.
“Then for those who don’t have BPJS, we will try to get BPJS because it’s a long life-long treatment, you have to continue receiving treatment. Yes, it’s also expensive, the same kind of medication,” added Rebekah.
PDIP commemorates World HIV/AIDS Day which falls on December 1.The event was held by inviting hundreds of sufferers from around Jabodetabek to have recreation at Dunia Fantasi, Ancol, Jakarta.
