This was conveyed by Prabowo after inspecting the Central Tapanuli area which was affected by floods and landslides on Monday (1/12).
“Everyone in the region must be prepared to face the impact of climate change,” he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo emphasized that all levels of government can truly protect the environment in order to anticipate climate change conditions in the future.
“We are grateful that the weather is improving, the predictions are that the worst is over, hopefully, now we are dealing with climate change well,” he said.
On the same occasion, Prabowo said that fuel distribution in areas affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, West Sumatra and North Sumatra was a priority.
“Now the priority is how to immediately send the necessary aid, especially fuel which is very important, soon I think electricity will all be open,” he explained.
Prabowo said that currently there are still several villages that are isolated because land access was cut off after the disaster.He said that the entire joint team was continuing to try to open access to the cut off route.
On the other hand, Prabowo explained, KRI and helicopters had also been deployed to distribute logistical assistance to affected and isolated residents.
The North Sumatra Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that the number of victims due to floods and landslides that hit a number of areas was increasing.Temporary data shows that 226 people have died, while 188 other residents are still being searched for.
