Residents of Gayo Lues Regency, Aceh are waiting for assistance with basic needs in the midst of the flood disaster that hit their area.
This was conveyed by a resident named Prayogi Sugiarto who admitted that he was surviving on basic supplies at home and assistance from the Gayo Lues Regency Government. He estimates that the stock of these basic commodities will probably only be enough for the next 2 to 3 days.
“For now we still depend on stock prepared at home and provided by the district government, and that is limited. And in my opinion, the available stock will probably only last the next 2 to 3 days,” he said in an interview with hitclubapk3 Indonesia, Sunday (30/11).

Prayogi said that the Gayo Lues Regency area is currently still isolated and road access is completely cut off. Some areas that are very isolated include Pinding, Putri Betung and Tripe Jaya sub-districts.
Apart from access, he said the area’s electricity went out because there was no fuel supply for generator needs.Meanwhile, the internet network is completely down and communication needs rely on the Starlink satellite internet network whose equipment is supplied by the Regency Government.
He also claimed that no aid had come to his area apart from the district government.
“The internet network is completely down, we only rely on Starlink provided by the Regency Government, which is also very limited. The electricity went out because the fuel supply couldn’t come in. No aid has yet reached Gayo Lues, either by land or air,” he said.
Prayogi, who is currently in one of the refugee camps, said it was not yet clear when aid would come to his area.
Aid supplies to the area, he said, were experiencing difficulties because land access was cut off, both main roads and alternative routes.
“It is not yet clear when the aid will be available. But aid from the Gayo Lues Regency Government has been distributed, but it is limited because the land access road to Gayo Lues is cut off so basic commodities cannot enter Gayo Lues. The main road and alternative roads are also cut off,” he explained.
Assistance from the center
The government itself has deployed helicopters and planes to distribute logistical aid to areas affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, West Sumatra and North Sumatra.
The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) deployed helicopters and planes to send logistical assistance to a number of areas affected by floods and landslides in Aceh Province.
Sending aid by air is a priority.Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center, Abdul Muhari, said that the land routes to a number of affected areas were still blocked by landslide material.Even vehicles cannot pass.
The BNPB helicopter departed from Kualanamu Airport, Medan, North Sumatra.
“In the first sortie, this helicopter loaded aid with a total weight of 588 kilograms,” explained Abdul in a written statement received by hitclubapk3Indonesia.com, Sunday (30/11).
Apart from helicopters, Cessna Caravan PK-SNG aircraft were also deployed. The plane was flown from Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Banda Aceh, to Rembele Airport in Bener Meriah Regency.
In the first sortie, the plane transported 50 cartons of instant noodles, five cartons of Eprokal, Naraga, Genset, Starlink, as well as fuel oil (BBM) to strengthen communication and lighting facilities in the affected locations.
Meanwhile, the government is also distributing aid via air via the TNI and Basarnas.
“To date, the Government has sent a total of 11 TNI & Basarnas helicopters from Jakarta to disaster-affected areas,” said the Cabinet Secretariat’s official Instagram account, (29/11).
