Prabowo previously also expressed concern over recent natural disasters. He prayed that their grief and suffering would be eased for the victims affected by the flood.
Prabowo said that so far the government had sent aid via three Hercules C-130 aircraft and one A-400 aircraft. He ensured that aid deliveries would be carried out continuously by adjusting to needs in the field.
The four planes flew to deliver aid this morning. They were flown from Halim Perdana Kusuma Air Base, Jakarta.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said data from regional heads was used as the basis for the central government to determine the type of aid sent this morning.
The aid flown consisted of emergency equipment to vital needs for evacuation and rapid recovery.
“So today, as needed, around 150 tents were dispatched, then there were rubber boats because they were very important for evacuation, there were around 64 of them, then generators, electrical aids, then most importantly, around 100 communication tools were also dispatched there so that communication signals could be restarted. Then also ready-to-eat foodstuffs, then a medical team from the TNI, then also from the Ministry of Health,” said Teddy.
