A series of searches were carried out at a number of houses where the owner’s name was not disclosed, then at the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Office of the Riau Provincial Government, Wednesday (12/11).

“In a series of searches, investigators secured and confiscated a number of documents and electronic evidence related to budget shifts in Riau Province,” said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo in a written statement, Thursday (13/11).
Prior to this, on Tuesday (11/11), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had already searched the Riau Province Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, Settlement and Land Areas (PUPR PKPP) Department.Documents and BBE were also confiscated.
Investigators obtained the same evidence when searching the Riau Governor’s Office on Monday (10/11).
At that time, investigators also asked for further information from the Regional Secretary of the Riau Provincial Government, Syahrial Abdi and the Head of the Protocol Section of the Riau Provincial Government, Raja Faisal.
“Confiscation of evidence and requests for information from various parties are very important to assist investigators in shedding light on this case,” explained Budi.
The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) has named the Governor of Riau Abdul Wahid, Dani M. Nursalam as Abdul Wahid’s Expert, and the Head of the PUPR PKPP Service for Riau Province M. Arief Setiawan as suspects in a case of alleged extortion and/or receiving gratuities.
The suspects have been detained for the first 20 days until November 23 2025.
They are suspected of violating Article 12 letter e and/or Article letter f and/or Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.
Handling of this case began with Operation Arrest Hand (OTT) in early November.
