“Initially we carried out an investigation at Pakui Park, after that we got the CCTV information, then we investigated it,” said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Panakkukang Police, Inspector Nasrullah, Tuesday (11/11).
The investigation was successful in securing the woman who kidnapped Bilqis, SY (30).
SY apparently kidnapped and took Bilqis to his boarding house, then sold the toddler through his Facebook account.
Someone from Jakarta with the initials NH (29) was then interested in buying it.He immediately flew from Jakarta to Makassar to pick up Bilqis.
The search then developed until the police arrested the woman who took Bilqis from Makassar to Jakarta after paying Rp. 3 million.
“Finally we found the first perpetrator (SY), then we investigated further, it turned out that the child (Bilqis) was picked up by a woman from Jakarta,” he said.
After that, a joint team from the Panakkukang Police and Jatanras Polrestabes Makassar received instructions that NH was in Sukoharjo, Central Java.
“We continued to investigate and we got a clue that the person who picked us up from Jakarta was in Sukoharjo. We finally went there and were immediately able to secure it. We then asked where the child (Bilqis) was, after that it turned out to be in Jambi,” he said.
The joint team then moved to Jambi after learning about Bilqis’ whereabouts in coordination with the local police.NH sold Bilqis for IDR 30 million to MA and AS who are residents of Jambi.
“The assistance there was extraordinary, we then went to Kerinci with a travel time of 12 hours by land, to investigate the perpetrator’s confession (NH) and arrived there on Friday and we also arrested (MA and AS),” he said.
Officers arrested MA (42) and AS (36) and admitted that they had sold Bilqis to one of the Anak Dalam Tribe (SAD) people for IDR 80 million by making a false statement as if the victim’s parents were unable to raise their child.
“After we looked into it, it turned out that (Bilqis) had been sold to the Anak Dalam Tribe (SAD). So from Kerinci to Merangin we had a 4 hour road trip,” he said.
Police officers then took persuasive steps in coordination with the traditional leaders of the Anak Dalam Tribe, so that Bilqis was successfully brought back to Makassar.
“Because the Anak Dalam Tribe (SAD) is relatively remote, it is quite extreme. We coordinated with the traditional leader, it turned out that it had been sold again to other SAD people,” he said.
