on the border of Malaysia and Thailand increased to 13 people on Monday (10/11).
The director of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency in the states of Kedah and Perlis, Romli Mustafa, said search and rescue teams had found seven other bodies, all of whom were of Rohingya ethnicity.

“Thai authorities also carried out rescue operations, and six other bodies were found,” said Romli, as quoted by AFP.
“We are trying to find other victims today,” he continued.
According to police information, all the dead victims found were Bangladeshi and Rohingya citizens.
Langkawi Police Chief Khairul Azhar Nuruddin said six of the victims were Rohingya women.
The boat carrying around 300 migrants capsized and sank near Tarutao Island on Sunday (9/11).Police said the migrants initially departed from Buthidaung, Myanmar, for Malaysia using a large ship.
However, before arriving at the border, they were asked to move to three small boats, each carrying 100 people, to avoid officers.
Malaysia is home to millions of migrants from poor regions in Asia.Many migrants are illegal and work in the construction and agricultural sectors.
Usually, migrants land in Malaysia by sea.However, sea travel is often filled with danger because overloaded small ships often sink in the middle of the sea.
