“Regarding the title of hero, of course it will be announced at the right time. All processes have been passed in stages from the bottom to the top. Whoever the president (Prabowo Subianto) decides later, all of them have been declared eligible,” he explained after visiting the victims of the SMA 72 explosion at the Jakarta Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital, Sunday (9/11).
“The (second) President Soeharto meets the requirements, the (fourth) President Abdurrahman Wahid meets the requirements, labor fighter Marsinah meets the requirements, Sheikh Kholil Bangkalan also meets the requirements,” said Gus Ipul.

Gus Ipul emphasized that there were still many names of fighters and heroes proposed from various provinces.He stressed that the official announcement of the title of hero was just a matter of time.
Gus Ipul then responded to the question of a number of parties who were still protesting against giving Suharto the title of hero.
“That is part of the process, the dynamics, yes, it is an attachment to the decision to title this hero,” commented the minister regarding the refusal to award the title of hero to Suharto.
“Let’s remember the good things, while we note the bad things so that hopefully it doesn’t happen again in the future,” he added.
There are 49 names who will be given the title of hero.Gus Ipul has submitted the list of names to Prabowo via the Minister of Culture Fadli Zon.
The proposed names consist of 40 new proposals and 9 from previous proposals that have not yet been determined by the president.
