Governor of DKI Jakarta
Pramono Anung
express an increase
Jakarta UMP 2026
6.17 percent to IDR 5,729,876 per month using a specific index (alpha) of 0.75.
This index is below the demands of workers who are members of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) who urge the use of an alpha of 0.9 in calculating the UMP.
“In the Wage Council meeting, to discuss matters related to the UMP, it was decided to determine the 2026 UMP based on an alpha of 0.75,” said Pramono in a press conference at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (24/12).

Pramono admitted that there was a tug-of-war in discussing the UMP at the Wage Council considering that Government Regulation (PP) Number 49 of 2025 gives room for the governor to use an alpha of 0.5-0.9.
In fact, Pramono said that entrepreneurs still want to use an alpha of 0.55.
“I will convey it matter-of-factly and transparently. For entrepreneurs, initially they of course stayed at 0.5, it rose to 0.55, and they stayed at that figure. Meanwhile, workers, they want of course above 0.9 and that is under discussion many times,” explained Pramono.
This disagreement ultimately led Pramono to refuse to announce the 2026 UMP before December 24 2025. He emphasized that several days ago the agreement was not yet unanimous.
However, he now confirms that the determination of the 2026 UMP has been agreed upon by the relevant parties. This was finally stated in the governor’s decision.
“For the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, the UMP is not just an increase, but of course we also look at the whole, both from the workers’ side and then entrepreneurs,” explained the governor.
“To ensure that the UMP in DKI Jakarta increases above regional inflation, the DKI Jakarta Government has decided to provide subsidies for several things,” he added.
There are at least four subsidies provided by DKI, namely public transportation for workers, food assistance, free health check services, and access to drinking water through PAM Jaya.
Apart from that, Pramono emphasized that there are a number of social protection services (perlinsos) with applicable conditions.
“Meanwhile, to support entrepreneurs or business players, we will provide convenience for licensing, service improvements, relaxation and tax incentives, and access to training and capital for MSMEs,” said Pramono.
Pramono believes that all parties will provide support and be able to understand the existing situation and conditions.
“We hope that the decision taken has gone through a long process and taken into account various things, both from the perspective of workers and employers,” he concluded.
Separately, KSPI President and Labor Party President Said Iqbal calculated that the 2026 UMP increase should be 6.9 percent, if using an alpha of 0.9.With an increase of 6.9 percent, workers’ wages in DKI next year should be IDR 5,769,137.
Iqbal even threatened to hold multiple demonstrations if the 2026 UMP increase did not meet workers’ expectations.
