“Every player will be weighed [on Friday]. They will return on the 25th and I will be there to monitor how many kilograms they have gained. When they arrive after three days [off], I want to see how they are after returning,” said Guardiola as quoted by

In Guardiola’s view, every player is under his control, especially in terms of maintaining an ideal body weight for the next match.
“They can eat, but I want to control them. I have to make a choice for the match against Nottingham Forest. Imagine one player, and now he is perfect, but he will come in weighing three kilos more. He will [stay] in Manchester. He will not go to Nottingham Forest,” added Guardiola.
City are currently second in the Premier League standings, two points behind Arsenal, so every detail of fitness and performance is crucial in the title race.Guardiola considers this short holiday important so that players can gather with their families.
Apart from the weigh-in policy, Guardiola even canceled a holiday that was originally planned after the West Ham match, because he considered that the team’s performance had not reached ideal standards.A short three-day break will allow players to refocus on preparations for the match
