Yudai Yamamoto
become a full referee in the Indonesian League or Super League 2025/2026.This was stated by Ogawa at the I.League office, Jakarta, Monday (22/12).
“He [Yudai Yamamoto] has long experience as a referee in various countries. He even has martial arts skills, so he can fight anyone,” said Ogawa.

“When there was a program from PSSI to improve the performance of referees, apart from foreign referees there were also young referees. There are also our referees who are becoming more active in the AFC,” said Asep.
“But we also need acceleration for referees. The plan is that in the second round of the Super League this season and if needed in other matches we will have full time professional foreign referees.”
“Of course he is not a perfect human being and can make mistakes, but with his track record I am sure his presence can improve the quality of referees in the Indonesian League.”
Regarding the Indonesian football competition, Yamamoto believes that the playing tempo of the clubs taking part in the Super League is not as consistent as in Japan.
This was conveyed by Yamamoto after leading six matches this season.According to him, he needs to focus more on leading the competition in Indonesia because the rhythm of the game is up and down.
“Indonesia’s football game is more inconsistent than Japan’s [in terms of tempo]. Of course this situation makes me have to focus more on maintaining order in the match,” said Yamamoto.
