Group members who are active solo dominate
Melon Music Awards
(MMA) 2025. K-pop icon G-Dragon swept seven awards, including three Grand Prizes.Likewise, Rosé and Jennie BLACKPINK won six awards together as solo artists.
G-Dragon took home the Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Song of the Year awards, which are three MMA Grand Prizes.

This musician named Kwon Ji-yong also received the Top 10 trophy, Millions Top 10 album award, Best Solo Male Artist and Best Songwriter at this annual event.
“There’s not much I can say other than I’m happy and grateful, but once again, thank you and I will do better,” said G-Dragon when winning Artist of the Year.
“I will continue to work hard to do my part and become an artist worthy of this moment. When I first started, it felt like a long time ago, and back then, terms like ‘genre’ or ‘artist’ felt so far away.”
“But honestly, I want everyone here to know that I think we are all artists. Each of our stories may be different, and there is no one right answer,” she said.
BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Rosé each took home three awards as solo singers.Jennie won the Record of the Year award with her solo album Ruby.Rosé took home the Best Solo Female Artist trophy.
Both of them also won the Millions Top 10 and Top 10 trophies.
