The emergency raft on which the Deputy Governor is riding

, Fadhlullah and his entourage overturned while crossing the alternative route in the Pameu area, Central Aceh Regency, Aceh, Sunday (21/12).
Initially, Fadhlullah and his entourage wanted to visit areas that were still isolated after the hydrometeorological flood-landslide disaster in the Pameu area.As a result of the disaster that occurred at the end of last November, the land road infrastructure and the bridge leading there were broken.
As a result, to get to the location which was still isolated, they were forced to use a raft to cross the river.

The Aceh Deputy Governor’s visit was carried out to obtain a real picture of the impact of the disaster and ensure that the community’s basic needs were met.
“During the crossing, the emergency raft used overturned, causing Mr. Fadhlullah and his entourage to fall into the river and rescue efforts were immediately carried out,” said the Head of the Administration Bureau for the Aceh Regional Secretariat, Akkar Arafat, in his statement.
Luckily in that incident there were no casualties.
The Deputy Governor of Aceh and his entire entourage were successfully evacuated safely.
The visit to Central Aceh, said Akkar, was part of a series of steps by the Aceh Government in handling the impact of the disaster that hit a number of districts/cities.
The sporadic disasters that occurred at the end of last month in three provinces of Sumatra–Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra– have caused damage to infrastructure and residential areas and disrupted community socio-economic activities, especially in remote areas.
The Pameu area in Central Aceh is one of the areas that experienced quite serious damage to roads and bridges.
“The Aceh government hopes that the distribution of aid can be accelerated, and the process of restoring infrastructure and basic services for affected communities can be carried out immediately in a measurable and sustainable manner,” said Akkar.
