“This shows that the integrity of the apparatus must be tightened. Don’t let practices like this happen again,” said Martin in a written statement, Saturday (20/12).
He also encouraged the Corruption Eradication Committee to take firm action against the suspects and continue to develop cases without discrimination.
“That’s why the KPK’s quick steps are important, and anyone involved must be processed thoroughly,” he said.
Martin said the involvement of law enforcement officials in suspected corruption cases was ironic and hurt public trust.
He said that law enforcement officers should be the last bastion of justice, but instead they are suspected of abusing their authority.
The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) named the Head of the HSU District Prosecutor’s Office, Albertinus Parlinggoman Napitupulu, and the Head of the Intelligence Section of the HSU District Prosecutor’s Office, Asis Budianto, as suspects in the alleged extortion case.
Both of them have been detained at the KPK State Detention Center (Rutan) for the first 20 days, starting from December 19 2025 to January 8 2026.
Albertinus is suspected of receiving cash flows of at least IDR 804 million, either directly or through intermediaries named Asis, Tri Taruna, and other parties.
The money came from alleged acts of extortion against a number of regional officials at HSU, such as the Education Service, Health Service, Public Works Service (PU), and Regional General Hospital (RSUD).
Meanwhile, Asis Budianto is suspected of receiving cash flows from a number of parties amounting to IDR 63.2 million in the period February 2025-December 2025.
Apart from that, the KPK also named the Head of the Civil and State Administration Section (Datun) of the North Hulu Sungai District Prosecutor’s Office, South Kalimantan, Tri Taruna Fariadi as a suspect.
He is said to have not only acted as an intermediary for alleged extortion. He is also suspected of receiving a cash flow of up to IDR 1.07 billion.
However, Tri Taruna is still running away. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will include his name in the People Wanted List (DPO).
“A search is underway for the person concerned and of course we will issue a DPO if the search that is being carried out does not produce results or the person concerned is not found,” said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the Corruption Eradication Commission Asep Guntur Rahayu in a press conference at his office, Jakarta, Saturday (20/18) morning.
