The Indonesian Men’s National Volleyball Team won a silver medal after losing 2-3 (20-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-23, 12-15) to Thailand in the 2025 SEA Games final at the Huamark Indoor Stadium, Friday (19/12) evening WIB.
In the first set, Thailand managed to take the lead at the start of the game with a 2-0 advantage.However, Indonesia remained calm and managed to equalize the score at 2-2 through errors from Thai players and a service ace from Tedi Oka Syahputra.
Then Thailand was able to take a one point lead over Indonesia again, but again the Red and White team managed to equalize the score at 5-5.

However, after that, Thailand, who appeared enthusiastic in front of the fans who packed the stadium, was able to take the lead again and went ahead 8-5.
But Indonesia did not give up.The Red and White Team was able to cut the deficit to two points with a score of 7-9, 9-11.
Then a very hard smash was released by Hendra Kurniawan who was able to change the score to 11-12, opening up opportunities for Indonesia.Next, Fahry Septian Putratama’s back attack changed the score to 12-12.
Furthermore, Thailand again led the scoring with a 16-14 advantage over Indonesia.Thailand was even able to widen its lead to 18-15 and 20-17.
Thailand was then able to widen their lead to 21-17.Then Rivan Nurmulki’s hard smash managed to change the score to 18-21.But in the end Thailand was able to secure victory in the first set 25-20.
In the second set, Indonesia went berserk with a landslide lead of 10-2.Then Indonesia was able to widen its lead again to 17-7.
The Indonesian players were getting hotter and on fire to beat Thailand with a 20-10 lead.Then Jasen Natanael Kilanta managed to put Indonesia ahead 22-12.Rivan Nurmulki’s smash put Indonesia ahead 23-13.
Until finally Indonesia won the second set with a score of 25-16.Indonesia’s victory in the second set changed the big score to 1-1.
In the third game, Thailand again found its best playing form.Thailand successfully beat Indonesia in the third game with a score of 25-23.
In the fourth game, Indonesia was able to take the lead at the start of the game.However, at crucial points Thailand was able to catch up and equalize the score at 22-22.But Rivan Nurmulki and his friends managed to win in the fourth game 25-23 to change the big score to 2-2.
In the fifth game, the match became even more tense.Thailand was able to take a long lead 6-3 at the start of the game.Indonesia, through Hendra Kurniawan’s block, managed to reduce the position to 4-6.
Then Thailand was able to widen their lead to 9-6.But Indonesia was able to cut the deficit to 9-12 through Rivan’s service ace.Indonesia was again able to cut the score to 11-13.However, Anurak’s smash was able to put Thailand ahead 14-11.
Finally Thailand emerged victorious in the fifth game 15-12.Thailand managed to win a gold medal.Indonesia won silver at the 2025 SEA Games.
With this result, Thailand was able to break the record of winning three consecutive editions previously achieved by Indonesia in 2019, 2021 and 2023.
