(AGO) named three prosecutors in Banten who were involved in the alleged extortion case against
South Korean citizen
(South Korea) has been temporarily suspended.
The Attorney General’s Office has named five suspects in this case, three of whom are prosecutors and the other two are private parties.
“It has been dismissed. It will be temporarily suspended until it has permanent legal force,” said the Head of the Attorney General’s Penkum, Anang Supriatna to reporters, Friday (19/12).

Anang said this temporary dismissal was carried out in accordance with applicable procedures.Meanwhile, the ethical process for the three prosecutors, said Anang, will be held as the criminal process progresses
“There hasn’t been time yet. There hasn’t been time for an ethical examination, yet. It’s still in stages. Yes, the process hasn’t happened yet. Yes, the process for the ethical examination can be ongoing with the investigation,” he said.
Anang stated that the legal process against the three prosecutors would proceed transparently.He also claimed that the Attorney General’s Office would not protect prosecutors who committed violations.
“We are going into it. In principle, we will not protect against unscrupulous elements within us. As long as the evidence and evidence is strong, we will definitely follow up,” he said.
On the other hand, Anang explained that the disclosure of the alleged extortion case involving three prosecutors began with the intelligence team’s findings.He said, the team found that there was a prosecutor who carried out extortion in the ITE case with the suspect, a South Korean citizen.
“The handling of this case was not carried out professionally, there were even indications that there was a transaction asking for a certain amount of money from the parties,” he said.
“From the results the developer then followed up with ongoing investigations, then during the course of the inspections the person concerned was named a suspect, it turned out that the person concerned was also named by the Corruption Eradication Commission,” he continued.
Previously, the AGO named five suspects in a case of alleged extortion in handling cases involving South Korean citizens.
The five suspects are the Head of the Tangerang Regency Prosecutor’s Office with the initials HMK, the Public Prosecutor at the Banten Prosecutor’s Office with the initials RV, the Head of the Banten Prosecutor’s Office for Criminal Investigation with the initials RZ, a lawyer with the initials DF and a translator or Linguist with the initials MS.
Of the five suspects, RZ, DF, and MS were caught in the KPK’s sting operation (OTT).However, the three were then handed over to the Attorney General’s Office.
“Everyone was questioned last night, so we have a total of five suspects. Three prosecutors have been named suspects by us and are already under investigation, and two are from the private sector,” said Anang.
