The demonstrators, acting on behalf of the Serpong Care Forum, put forward 12 points of demands.The first point is that waste at the Cipeucang landfill must be managed well, not just piled up.
“This waste must be handled from upstream to downstream,” said Chairman of the Serpong Care Forum, Abdul Manaf, Thursday (18/12).

According to him, TPST-3R is not the only way to solve the waste problem in Tangsel City.TPST-3R only processes at the bottom point, but the residue will be disposed of at the Cipeucang landfill.
“So we, the people, don’t just hand it over to the government,” he added.
According to him, Cipeucang TPA has had a big impact on the surrounding community.Residents have long felt the smell every day.That’s why, continued Manaf, residents are urging that this waste be managed.This landfill is a place for processing, not disposal, which is a misnomer.
“You can see the impact for yourself, it’s only been closed for a week and it’s already like this,” he stressed.
The following are the 12 points of demands of the Serpong Residents Forum, including:
1. Waste must be managed (not just piled up).
2. Seriously reactivate TPST-3R throughout South Tangerang.
3. Form a Waste Task Force consisting of representatives of South Tangerang residents and ASN to formulate and oversee a sustainable South Tangerang waste management process.
4. Improve the Cipeucang TPA management system by returning the TPA’s function, namely as a ‘Final Processing Place’ in accordance with Law 18 of 2008 concerning Waste and its infrastructure support.
5. Reallocate additional budget for processing Cipeucang landfill waste.
6. Additional budget reallocation for Serpong sub-district for the development of Social Facilities, Public Facilities and infrastructure.
7. Clean water network to directly affected houses.
8. Providing BLT of IDR 250 thousand per month which is given transparently to directly affected residents.
9. Upgrading the status of Serpong Community Health Center to become a class D hospital.
10. Residents of Serpong District are given priority to dispose of waste at the Cipeucang TPA.
11. The mayor must be present as the person in charge of waste at the Cipeucang TPA to strengthen the South Tangerang City Government’s commitment to the demands of Serpong residents.
12. Reject the expansion of the Cipeucang landfill.
