Public Relations of KAI Daop 2 Hardoyo said the postponement had been coordinated with West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi and a number of regents and mayors whose areas the Jaka Lalana train crossed.

“KAI and the Governor of West Java agreed to postpone the operation of the Jaka Lalana train because KAI is still focused on handling disasters in Sumatra because there are train lines that are affected,” Hardoyo was quoted as saying.

According to him, KAI is focusing on handling the affected train lines until they are completed, then after that they will plan to re-operate Jaka Lalana.
“After completing the handling of the Sumatra disaster, we just have to launch the operation of the tourist train, because trials have been carried out and declared feasible, later various tour packages will be offered according to the districts/cities that are crossed,” he said.
The Jaka Lalana Tourist Train has five trains, consisting of two special tourist train carriages, two executive train carriages, and one dining train carriage.The plan is for this train to pass through 17 stations starting from Jakarta, Bogor, Sukabumi and Cianjur.
This project is the result of collaboration between the West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov Jabar) and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).The name “Jaka Lalana” itself is taken from Sundanese which means “wanderer” or “man who likes to explore,” reflecting the spirit of travel.
KAI has carried out dynamic trials of the Jaka Lalana Tourist Train last Wednesday (10/12).
