Coach Garrath McPherson gave high praise to his players who persevered under pressure
U-23 Indonesian National Team
in the 2025 SEA Games Group C match.

“They [Indonesia] are a very good team. And they pushed us to the limit of our abilities. I am very happy with the character our team showed,” said McPherson.
“I feel that the attitude and mentality among the players is something that sets them apart. Without that attitude and mentality, today’s results might have been different,” added McPherson.
This coach from Australia does not doubt Indonesia’s composition as the defending SEA Games champion.At this SEA Games, Indonesia is filled with a number of naturalized players, including those who have experienced the senior national team, such as Jens Raven, Mauro Zijlstra, and Rafael Struick.
“Indonesia, you can see their quality there. They made it difficult for us. But we also have that quality.”
“Our focus now is on rest. We played two games very close together, so now we can recover mentally and physically, which will be nice,” said McPherson.
