6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Bolaang Uki, North Sulawesi, No Tsunami Potential

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 rocked the Bolaang Uki area, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi, Monday (17/11), at 19.12 WIB.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) recorded that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the sea at 0.04 South Latitude, 124.15 East Longitude or 49 km southeast of Bolaang Uki.

“The depth of the earthquake was 105 kilometers,” said the statement on BMKG’s official X account.”The earthquake does not have the potential for a tsunami.”
Earthquake vibrations were quite felt in the Bone Bolango area with an MMI III-IV scale.On this scale, vibrations are felt by many people in the house, they can knock over small objects.
Vibrations with lower intensity were also felt in Gorontalo Regency, Kotamobagu, Bolaang Mongondow, Ampana, Ternate City.
There has been no official statement from BMKG regarding the damage or casualties caused by the earthquake.
