ahead of the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 holidays. This spike in passengers was recorded until Saturday (20/12) at 09.30 WIB and is expected to continue to increase until evening.
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operation Area (Daop) 1 Jakarta noted that apart from departing passengers, there were 32,728 passengers arriving in the Daop 1 Jakarta area in the same time period.

Based on temporary data, Pasar Senen Station served 14,146 boarding passengers and 11,142 alighting passengers.Meanwhile, Gambir Station recorded 11,764 boarding passengers and 10,451 alighting passengers.
Franoto said that passenger movements still have the potential to increase until 24.00 WIB in line with the train departure and arrival schedules.In the last three days, namely 18-20 December 2025, the total number of passengers departing from the Daop 1 Jakarta area reached 100,512 people, while arriving passengers were 85,772 people.
In detail, on December 18, 28,122 passengers boarded and 25,353 passengers disembarked.Then, on December 19 there were 37,942 passengers boarding and 27,691 passengers alighting.Meanwhile, on December 20 until the morning, 34,458 passengers boarded and 32,728 passengers disembarked.
To date, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has recorded that ticket sales have reached 518,616 tickets from a total capacity of 909,536 seats provided.The peak flow of departures is predicted to occur on 23, 24 and 25 December 2025, with favorite destination cities including Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Bandung and Purwokerto.
During the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) Transport period 18 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta operated 1,732 train trips.This number increased by around 10 percent compared to the 2024 Christmas period which recorded 1,577 trips.
“In this year’s Nataru Transport, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is programming passenger transport for 764,834 customers, or an increase of around 4 percent compared to the realization of Nataru 2024,” said Franoto.
He appealed to passengers to arrange their departure time to the station well so they don’t miss their train.Passengers are also asked to confirm their travel schedule and identity according to their ticket, carry items according to the provisions, look after their luggage and children, and utilize facial recognition boarding services to speed up the process of boarding the train.
In the 2025/2026 Nataru Transport, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta operates 84 long-distance trains, consisting of 68 regular trains and 16 additional trains.In detail, Gambir Station serves 45 trains, while Pasar Senen Station serves 39 trains.Apart from that, there are eight local trains that are also operated.
For Pangrango and Siliwangi local train services, during the period 18 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, 45,468 passengers boarded and 44,935 passengers alighted.On December 20 alone, the number of passengers reached 4,950 people on board and 4,787 people on board, with data that is still dynamic.
