Zulfa was appointed as General Chair of PBNU based on a Plenary meeting initiated by Syuriah PBNU at the Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (9/12) evening.
In a press conference near midnight, Zulfa said that he wanted to be a solution for NU’s future.

“I also said that I don’t want to be part of the conflict of the past. But I want to be a solution for this jam’iyah for the future,” said Zulfa in his first statement after the appointment.
He said that his current position is an honor on the one hand, but also a great trust on the other hand.
Zulfa said he was determined to run the NU organization in the remaining management period until 2026.
The nephew of former Rais Aam PBNU, who is also the 13th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma’ruf Amin, said he would carry out a difficult task.
First, he admitted that he wanted to normalize the wheels of the organization up to the Congress.He also invited all PBNU administrators and NU congregations to unite again.
“Let’s reunite in our big house. Because the NU community has been saddened by this uncertainty for a long time,” he said.
Zulfa promised to carry out the remainder of PBNU’s leadership as well as possible, as fairly as possible, as sincerely as possible, and as politely as possible.According to him, Tanfidziyah is a santri.
He admitted that he was no one, and was only the Rais Aam and Syuriah PBNU students.
“I promise, I will carry out this mandate as fairly as possible, as cleanly as possible, as sincerely as possible, and as politely as possible to maintain civility as a santri,” said Zulfa.
