“Finally we met, at that time we just clicked, because some of the films that we liked were the same, like Chris Nolan, David Fincher, genres that were a bit ‘sick’. From that chemistry we already clicked,” Yusron recalled.
He then explained that the collaboration was also accompanied by a good division of tasks.Lee Chang-hee handled a lot of the technical and visual aspects, while Yusron focused on actor direction and the strength of the script.
Yusron admitted that he was very honored to be able to work on Justice (The Verdict) with the Korean team.According to him, the film will present things that are rarely found in Indonesian films so far.
Some of the things he has leaked will be shown on the big screen, namely the bombing and the siege of the courthouse.
“Given an opportunity like this, I have imagined the joys and hardships. We will create a new work that has not existed in Indonesia before,” he said.
Justice (The Verdict) tells the story of Raka (Rio Dewanto), an honest court security officer who feels anxious watching the law manipulated by money, connections and lies.
However, he remained silent until his wife, Nina (Niken Anjani), a pregnant young lawyer, became the victim of a brutal crime by the son of a rich man who received protection from a cunning lawyer named Timo (Reza Rahadian).
Trapped in a corrupt system and easily influenced by social media, Raka slowly loses his faith, until he decides to take over the trial using extreme means.
