A number of eyewitnesses revealed a horror tragedy
seven apartment fires in Hong Kong
which killed 44 people.
The fire has so far killed 44 people and hundreds more are still missing.

Ng (60 years old), that is his nickname, said that the windows of his house were locked when the fire engulfed the apartment.
At first, he didn’t notice the fire and thought the sound of the explosion was firecrackers, quoted from

His heart raced as he and his family hurriedly evacuated their home on the 19th floor, where they had lived for more than four decades.
Ng then looked for a safe place and temporarily lived in a refugee camp.
Another witness, Yuen, who is also in the elderly group, said that the area where he lives has many elderly residents who use wheelchairs and walking aids.
He also said that at the time of the fire the apartment complex was under maintenance and many residents had their windows closed.Therefore, they did not hear the fire alarm.
“There was loss of property and lives, and one firefighter even died,” Yuen told

He and his wife also lost their place of residence after being devoured by a red rooster.

The incident was one of the deadliest fires in decades in Hong Kong, a region with some of the world’s tallest and most densely populated apartment blocks.
Until now the cause of the fire is still being investigated.However, during the rescue operation the Fire Department found several sheets of polystyrene board covering the windows in a number of apartments.
These polystyrene boards are highly flammable and make fire spread very quickly.
