The General Chair of the Indonesian Rugby Executive Board (PBRI), Didik Mukrianto, confirmed that the men’s national rugby team had canceled the 2025 SEA Games and only the women’s team had departed.
“It’s true [the Men’s National Rugby Team is not going to the 2025 SEA Games]. According to the results of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Review Team, the rugby team that is going is the women’s team,” said Didik to hitclubapk3 Indonesia, Monday (1/12).

Didik explained that PBRI received confirmation from the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) on November 21.During the meeting, it was stated that only the women’s team would go to the 2025 SEA Games.
“We were invited by KOI and asked to coordinate preparations for departure. At that time, we were informed that the women’s rugby team would be leaving,” he explained.
