At that time, the studio made this project in a tight time and lacked manpower, so not many characters were created.
When the first season of this little duo was made in 2007, for reasons of saving budget and speeding up the production process, the studio chose to make Upin and Ipin as bald boys.
“Making hair (hair simulation) at that time was very time consuming. So, Upin and Ipin were made bald, but Upin had a strand of hair,” explained Les’ Copaque in his upload on social media.

LCP consistently shows Upin with a strand of hair, and Ipin with a shaved head to differentiate the two twins.
Even so, LCP once featured Upin and Ipin with thick hair.This was seen in the episode Hair Grows in season 14 in 2021.
Upin, who originally had one strand of hair, in that episode had curly and curly hair.Meanwhile, Ipin, who was originally bald, has straight hair.
However, Upin and Ipin’s appearance with thick hair only took place in the episode Hair Growth.After that, the twin brothers appeared again with bald heads.

The animated series Upin and Ipin originates from Malaysia, and has been broadcast since 2007. The story of Upin and Ipin was written by Hajah Ainon who also voices Opah, Upin and Ipin’s grandmother.
