Ahead of the meeting against Indonesia, Vietnam U-19 national futsal team coach Nguyen Tuan Anh said he had prepared a special scenario and had monitored and analyzed the opponent’s strength.
“The coaching staff has been proactive in preparing for all scenarios from the early stages. Monitoring and analysis of opponents was carried out thoroughly before it was confirmed that we would play Indonesia or Malaysia [in the semifinals],” said Nguyen Tuan Anh, quoted from

“I am confident in the progress and performance of all our players in the last matches, especially before the match against Indonesia,” added Nguyen Tuan Anh.
The group stage for the 2025 AFF U-19 Futsal Cup ended on Thursday (25/12) evening, closing with Thailand’s 2-1 victory over Vietnam.
This result meant that Thailand managed to finish at the top of Group A with six points from two matches.
Meanwhile, Vietnam finished as runners up in Group A with a collection of three points from the two matches played.
“All the players carried out the tactics and instructions of the coaching staff very well. They played with high spirit, fighting until the last second, said Nguyen Tuan Anh after the 1-2 defeat against hosts Thailand.
Nguyen Tuan Anh emphasized that his players played according to plan, controlled the game and created many dangerous opportunities.
“We had some good shots but were a little less accurate to score more goals.Meanwhile, there were only two moments of lax concentration that were very detrimental to the team.Despite this, the players handled the situation quite well and kept the game according to plan,” said Nguyen Tuan Anh.
Meanwhile, in the match which took place on Thursday (25/12) afternoon, the U-19 Indonesian National Futsal Team managed to win 1-0 over Malaysia in the second Group B match in Nontabhuri, Thailand.
This victory enabled Indonesia to achieve an additional three points and successfully finish at the top of Group B with six points.
Indonesia successfully swept two matches in Group B with a win.Apart from winning 1-0 over Malaysia, Indonesia first slaughtered Myanmar 4-1 in the first match.Indonesia is also certain to qualify for the semifinals of the 2025 AFF U-19 Futsal Cup with the status of winner of Group B.
Meanwhile, the defeat by Indonesia meant that Malaysia finished as runners up in Group B by getting one point from two matches.
