The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported the number of victims who died as a result of the disaster

increased to 1,016 by Sunday (14/12).
“The results of the search and rescue increased by 10 bodies, nine bodies were found in Aceh and one in Agam Regency. So the total that was recapitulated yesterday in the three provinces was 1,006 people, as of today it has increased by 10 people to 1,016 people,” said Head of the BNPB Disaster Information and Communication Data Center Abdul Muhari in a press conference, Sunday.
Meanwhile, the number of missing and searching victims has decreased by five people today, from 217 people to 212 people.

“Why isn’t it synchronized, if there are (increased) 10 people who died, there should be 10 missing. This is like we are saying that the data on missing victims does not have to be from data found in the field, but also additional identification data from victims who have previously been found,” he said.
“Then it is confirmed, for example, if it turns out that residents of district A have not moved to district B, we continue to find these dynamic things in the field, so identification defects can be done by name by address,” he continued.
Then, BNPB also noted that there was a decrease in the number of refugees from 654 thousand people to 624,670.However, Abdul said, his party would still carry out further checks regarding the number of refugees.
“We continue to confirm whether the reduction is actually returning to their respective homes or whether this reduction is a refugee status moving from centralized refugee camps to independent resettlement but still dependent on logistical supplies,” he said.
