In detail, in Aceh it was reported that there were 325 deaths, in North Sumatra 311 deaths were recorded and in West Sumatra there were 200 deaths.
Meanwhile, there were 170 missing victims in Aceh, 127 in North Sumatra and 221 in West Sumatra.
“So the total number of missing victims in the three provinces where search efforts are still being carried out is 518 people,” said Abdul.
Despite many pressures from various parties, the central government has not yet designated the flood and landslide disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra with national disaster emergency response status.
Yesterday, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK), Pratikno, said that although it had not been declared a national disaster, disaster management had been carried out nationally.
Pratikno explained that all ministries/institutions had been ordered by President Prabowo to mobilize maximum resources.
“All ministries/institutions were ordered by the President, including the TNI-Polri, BNPB and all components to mobilize their resources as fully as possible to deal with the disaster in Sumatra. So once again the handling is truly full force handling nationally,” said Pratikno at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/12).
