Consisting of nine victims who died in South Tapanuli Regency, including six people in Batangtoru District, one person in Sipirok District, and one person in West Angkola District.
Then, four victims died, who were residents of Mardame Village, Sitahuis District, Central Tapanuli Regency, as a result of being buried by landslide material in their house.
BPDB North Sumatra Province stated that due to rainfall from Saturday (22/11), to Tuesday (25/11), hydrometeorological disasters resulted in the overflowing of a number of rivers causing floods, and landslides hit seven districts/cities in North Sumatra, namely Central Tapanuli, Sibolga, Mandailing Natal, South Tapanuli, North Tapanuli, South Nias and Padangsidimpuan.
“There were 37 injured victims, and three people were still declared missing in South Tapanuli. In Central Tapanuli, data is still being collected,” he said.
His party also revealed that a total of 330 housing units were damaged in South Tapanuli, consisting of 12 heavily damaged, six moderately damaged, and 312 slightly damaged, as well as one school unit damaged.
Meanwhile, in Mandailing Natal there were 561 families or 2,244 people displaced, 13 houses were heavily damaged, one school unit was damaged, and floods submerged 85 hectares of residents’ agricultural land.
Meanwhile in North Tapanuli there were 19 heads of families sleeping in refugee camps, five housing units were heavily damaged, 64 housing units were slightly damaged, and four roads were damaged and one bridge was cut off.
“In South Nias, one house was badly damaged, and one road section was disrupted. In Padangsidimpuan, one victim was declared missing, and 220 people were living in refugee camps,” said Sri Wahyuni.
