UN Security Council Ratifies US Proposed Resolution, Sending International Troops to Gaza
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) adopted a resolution proposed by the United States (US) to form a Peace Council (BoP) in the Gaza Strip and deploy the International Stabilization Force (ISF) to the enclave.
In voting on Monday (17/11), 13 countries supported the draft resolution.Only Russia and China abstained, without vetoing.
This resolution is said to support the peace plan for Gaza proposed by US President Donald Trump on September 29.One of them is regarding the formation of the BoP “as a transitional government” in Gaza which will be led by Trump.
With this resolution, the BoP was given the authority to form an International Stabilization Force (ISF) which could be deployed under the command of the BoP.Countries wishing to contribute personnel must consult with Egypt and Israel.
RI Responds to UN Resolution regarding the Deployment of Foreign Troops to Gaza
Indonesia opened its voice regarding the resolution regarding peacekeeping forces and a transitional government for the Gaza Strip after it was ratified by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Monday (17/11).
In an official release on Tuesday, the Indonesian government welcomed the resolution.
“Indonesia welcomes the ratification of the UN Security Council Resolution regarding Gaza on November 17 2025, which aims to maintain the continuity of the ceasefire and ensure the distribution of humanitarian aid in Gaza, Palestine,” said the release.
According to the government, the resolution also promotes conflict resolution and sustainable peace through strengthening the capacity of the Palestinian Authority, reconstruction assistance and peacekeeping by international stabilization forces with a UN mandate.
Trump First Addresses MbS After the Murder of Jamal Khashoggi
United States President Donald Trump will for the first time host the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) in Washington, Tuesday (18/11).
This meeting between the two will be the first since 2018 following the controversial murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.Khashoggi was murdered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Türkiye, in October 2018.
The meeting between Trump and MbS was held at a time when relations between the US and Saudi have warmed in recent times.Since assuming his second term as president, Trump has promised to strengthen relations with the oil country.
Trump’s maneuver was carried out in the midst of his efforts to encourage Saudi to join the Abraham Accords.The Abraham Accords are an agreement to normalize relations between Israel and Arab-Muslim countries initiated by Trump in his first term in office.
