However, the company emphasized that the temporary suspension of operations had been carried out independently before any request for verification from the government.
“PTAR has temporarily suspended its operations starting December 6 2025 to focus efforts on humanitarian support and emergency disaster response efforts for the community in South Tapanuli,” said Ari in an official statement, Thursday (11/12), as quoted from the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) Information Disclosure.

He also explained that until the report was published, no disruption was found to other production processes in the business group or the company’s distribution and supply chain. The insurance that is owned is also considered to be able to cover potential operational losses if affected.
PT Agincourt Resources, through Senior Manager Corporate Communications Katarina Siburian Hardono, previously stated that the company had already stopped production activities before verification from the Ministry of Environment was carried out.
“Since December 6 2025 we have stopped production activities. We have also received a call from Gakkum KLH to verify data and information, and we will fulfill it,” said Katarina as quoted
CNBC Indonesia.
“Currently we are still focused on continuing emergency response efforts in the affected areas in South Tapanuli, coordinating with the regional government and related parties,” he added.
The Ministry of Environment previously stated that there were three main factors that were suspected of worsening floods and landslides in the Batang Toru watershed, namely industrial forest plantation activities, hydroelectric development and gold mining activities.
PTAR is one of three companies whose operations have been temporarily suspended by the Ministry of Environment for comprehensive verification.
Minister of the Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq explained through his social media uploads that aerial monitoring showed changes in the landscape which were thought to increase water runoff in the area.
“We identified at least three main sources that exacerbate flooding… and gold mining activities in the Batang Toru watershed,” Hanif wrote.
Meanwhile, PT Agincourt Resources is part of the Astra Group through ownership of PT United Tractors Tbk, and operates the Martabe gold mine in South Tapanuli.
