Two runners Pujo Buntoro (55) and Sigit Joko Purnomo (45) from Karanganyar died while taking part in the Siksorogo Lawu Ultra running race.
This running competition was held on the slopes of Mount Lawu, on the border of Central Java and East Java.

Reported by detikJateng, Sunday (7/2), the Board of Trustees of Siksorogo Lawu Ultra 2025, Tony Harmoko, said that the two runners died of heart attacks.
Tony said the two runners had heart attacks in different locations.
“Yes, it’s okay, two people died of heart attacks. Mr. Pujo this morning at 10.11 WIB at kilometer 8,” said Tony when contacted.
Meanwhile, Sigit Joko Purnomo died at kilometer 12 due to a heart attack.Tony said Sigit had a heart attack when he came down from Mitis Hill.
“The one was Mr. Sigit Joko Purnomoturun from Bukit Mitis km 12. Everyone had a heart attack,” he said.
The two bodies were then taken to Karanganyar Regional Hospital.Pujo and Sigit are known to Karanganyar residents.
Reporting from the official website siksorogo.id, the Siksorogo Lawu Ultra running race is the pinnacle of trail running competitions that are open internationally.Siksorogo Lawu Ultra is regularly held every December.The event was held on the slopes of Mount Lawu.
