“After intensive monitoring, the team found the suspect vehicle and immediately followed it until it was finally stopped in the Karo Regency area. From the results of the inspection, 8 sacks containing 255 bags of marijuana with a total weight of around 255 kilograms were found,” he said, Saturday (15/11).
Andy said the two suspects admitted they only acted as couriers and were paid IDR 50 million to deliver the marijuana to Medan City.Evidence was found in the white Daihatsu Terios BL 1163 SA, which they used to carry the narcotics.
“The suspects admitted that they were ordered by a man with the initials U, a resident of Nagan Raya. We are still investigating this identity and are currently in the process of further investigation. This action does not stop with the courier, but we are pursuing it all the way to the controlling network,” he said.
The evidence confiscated included 8 large white plastic sacks with blue stripes, 255 balpres containing marijuana, 2 cellphones, 1 clothing bag and 1 white Terios car.
The North Sumatra Regional Police will continue to increase operations and take action against drug networks that try to use North Sumatra as a transit route or illicit market.
“The two suspects and the evidence have been taken to the North Sumatra Police Narcotics Headquarters for further legal proceedings,” he said.
