Commission I DPR RI
in charge of foreign affairs and defense issued a strong warning against the discourse or campaign project of the United States (
US
) to change the world’s narrative, including Indonesia, towards the Jewish people.
This discourse was previously conveyed by a rabbi or Jewish religious leader who is US President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy for Antisemitic Affairs, Yehuda Kaploun.
Yehuda said he was looking for ways to change school textbooks in Indonesia to change views on antisemites.Antisemitism is prejudice, discrimination, or hatred against Jewish people.

Responding to this, member of Commission I DPR from the PKS faction, Sukamta, said that Indonesian education had never taught antisemites. So far, the 1945 Constitution only teaches anti-colonialism.
Sukamta said that if what Trump’s envoy meant was the majority of society’s view of Israel’s aggression against Palestine, that was not antisemitism but an anti-colonial attitude.
According to him, if Israel does not want to be criticized by the world, they should stop their colonization of Palestine.
“The attitude of the majority of Indonesian people who criticize Israel is not a form of anti-Semitism, it is an anti-colonial attitude. If Israel doesn’t want to be criticized by the world community, then stop its colonization of Palestine,” he said when contacted, Monday (22/12).
Sukamta said that Indonesia has six official religions recognized by the state. This sociological condition shows that Indonesia is not antisemitic.
According to him, what was revealed by Trump’s envoy who was planning to intervene in RI textbooks would only increase negative sentiment towards Israel.
He also warned that the government of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto must be careful because it could potentially conflict with the values of the Constitution.
“Of course we also need to be alert if this intervention effort is really carried out, because it might include values that are contrary to Pancasila and Indonesian culture,” he said.
Previously in activities held by Israeli mass media,

, Kaploun said efforts to change school textbooks in Indonesia – as a country with a majority of Muslims – could be done to change their views towards antisemites.
In a viral interview clip, Kaploun said he had been appointed by Trump to lead efforts to eradicate rampant antisemitism in the world.
“How do we educate? Indonesia has 350 million Muslims. How do we change their textbooks?”Kaploun said in an interview session at a conference held by T

it was held in the US.
“We have to teach people that it’s OK to educate children. How are we going to fight antisemitism on the internet? How are we going to improve algorithms?”Kaploun said.
Through this project, Kaploun said that in the future the US will have a special division to combat antisemitic views.
Later, Kaploun said that his party would collaborate with companies operating in the technology sector and many of them had offered cooperation.
Kaploun was previously appointed by Trump to be the US Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism.
